What is a Preventative Maintenance Technician?
The Preventative Maintenance Technician will cycle through assigned locations on a rotational basis, ensuring all fitness equipment continues to operate efficiently by diagnosing potential issues prior to failure, and proactively maintaining equipment per service mandates. Working to maintain and promote a high functioning fitness club environment, the Preventative Maintenance Technician will carry out overall service mandates in accordance with GoodLife’s core values and corporate standards.

Job Summary:
- Conduct preventative maintenance service, inspection, and minor repairs to all fitness equipment according to PM protocol
- Perform maintenance on a schedule including regular inspection, appropriately solving/escalating any discovered problems, and completing regularly-scheduled parts changes
- Use computerized maintenance software system to obtain and complete scheduled PM services
- Apply service notes, time & material, and status updates as they relate to individual PM service work orders
- Maintain appropriate level of PM completion
- Communicate proficiently with PM Team Lead and others to ensure proper work flow compliance
- Provide support for Club Install Team and Service Technician Team
- Complete tasks to the best of your ability and do not attempt to perform tasks that require a licensed Tradesperson
- Practice safe and professional driving habits when traveling in company vehicles
- Follow vehicle maintenance protocol and keep a clean, organized vehicle at all times
- Attend various meetings and training courses as required by the company
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Our Ideal Candidate:
- Completion of high school diploma
- Post secondary education an asset
- Previous experience in fitness industry an asset
- Previous experience in all aspects of fitness equipment service/repair an asset
- Technically minded with inherent knowledge of general mechanical diagnosis and repair an asset
- Demonstrated customer service ability and desire
- Strong time management, planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Team–focused with the ability to work well independently
- Continually able to maintain top performance and attitude even with repetitive tasks
- Ability to relate well with others
- Willingness to learn
- Problem-solving; action driven
- Flexible and Adaptable
- Demonstrates high level of functional and technical skills
- Proficiency in the use of computers for e-mail, CMMS Maintenance Software system, internet and Microsoft Excel template reports
- Valid driver’s license
- Daily commuting between various club locations
- Occasional overnight travel may be expected
- Occasional overtime may be expected
